Circumstance Merlot 2005, Stellenbosch (6)A very well made example of single varietal Merlot that almost resembles the lush chocolatey moca spice notes of a French Pomerol. Dense and elegantly textured with pure plummy black cassis fruit with subtle hints of new French oak and a creamy finish. Very enjoyable. "Big and juicy. Pronounced nose with Blackberry, herbs and smoky oak. In the mouth it is smooth and chocolatey, with touches if violets lifting the concentrated dark fruit. Drink now until 2013+" 4 Stars / 5 - Decanter, November 2007.
