Cape Mentelle Shiraz 2002, Margaret RiverThe ProducerAs one of the pioneers of the Margaret River region on the south west point of Australia, David Hohnen has gained a tremendous reputation here at Cape Mentelle. The Cabernet was one of the first Australian wines to interest the international auction market. Located at the most westerly point of South-West Australia, the Margaret River Valley is famous for its fine wines and marvellous, fresh climate. The 80 hectare farm is divided into two sites, one south of the town, Margaret River and another between the town and Cape Mentelle.The WineLush, rich and savoury eucalypt choc berry spice dominate a sweet fruited palate that has vanilla oak flavours and a long sleek finish.
