Made from Garnacha, Carinena , Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is a dark cherry colour, has a splendid very intense nose with rich blackcurrant fruit with complex notes of spices and minerals made in a shed not much bigger than your garage. Showing some lovely mellowing age, this is definitely one of the young guns of Priorato. An intensely concentrated, fat, full-bodied Priorato, the 1999 Gueta-Lupia exhibits notes of new oak, minerals, black raspberry and cassis fruit. While more fruit-driven than some of its peers, it possesses plenty of body, mass, and structure underneath all the glycerin and concentrated fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012+
