Le Petit Cheval de Cheval Blanc 2003, St Emilion Grand Cru

Cheval Blanc is one of only two Saint-Émilion estates to be classified as 1er Grand Cru Classé (A) - the district’s highest appellation. Pierre Lurton, who has been general manager for the last decade at Cheval, said of the château's relatively new owners (Bernaud Arnault and Baron Albert Frere who acquired the 37 hectares in 1998): [they] have put finance at the service of tradition". And thus the position of Cheval Blanc at the top of the Saint-Émilion quality ladder looks assured for many more years to come. Opulent and full-bodied, with low acidity and sweet tannin. Has the potential to be the most compelling Petit Cheval Blancs for many years.

Single Bottle: £69.95
