The super new wine from Craggy Range. Famous for their Martinborough Pinots, this is the new addition from Central Otago in the heart of the South Island. Made up of over 4 Dijon clones, including the famous DRC "Abel" clone from Vosne Romanee in Burgundy, this is a seriously good effort and stays true to Craggy's single vineyard philosophy of individual terroir promotion and development. The wine is bog dark and lush fruited with excellent fragrance and ripe blueberry and raspberry aromatics. Plenty of fruit depth shaped by fresh acids and fine grained tannins. Fairly muscular wine as is true to the region, but never looses its elegance and complexity. Not everyday a new Central Otago Pinot of this quality is launched newly on to the market!
