Handford Wines

Based in beautiful Ribeauvillé, the house of Trimbach was established in 1626. Pierre takes charge of wine making and brother, Jean Trimbach, who has kindly hosted tastings for us in the past, looks after the marketing. All aspects of the business are overseen by the family and the jewel I the crown is one of my favourite white wines, Riesling Clos Ste. Hune.

The Wine

A lovely, exotic and spicy expression of Gewurztraminer in the classic dry, slightly restrained Trimbach style. Full, balanced and very aromatic. Perfect with a curry but with a lightness of touch that would give pleasure as an aperitif.
