Cotes du Ventoux 2006, Delas FrèresThe ProducerThe firm of Delas has undergone a rennaisance in recent years producing some of the finest wines in the Rhone valley. Ever since Jacques Grange, a Burgundian who worked with Michel Chapoutier before joining Delas. The wine making at this estate has undergone a radical change with the bottling of top cuvees without fining or filtration, the utilisation of more new oak and 100% destemming of fruit as examples of the many changes. " The basic cuvees are more fruit driven, softer and ready to drink; the mid level cuvees are excellent, sometimes superb, and the top cuvees a knockout." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate 2001.The WineSoft delicious southern Rhone Grenache based wine that will tantalise. Not quite as serious as a Delas Freres Cote Rotie but certainly a very friendly, forward, red fruited wine with plenty of terroir notes.
