Nyetimber Vineyard is Britain's premier vineyard conceived and planted with the only winery built and equipped exclusively for the production of quality sparkling wine. Fifty acres of chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier, the classic varieties of the Champagne region, are planted on gentle south facing slopes of geensand soil. A consultant eonolgist from Champagne oversees the winemaking. As for the technology the winery was purpose built with the Magnum press imported fom Epernay is one of only about 30 in the world holds four tonnes of whole bunches at each pressing. After bottling the wine rests on its lees for six years. Although the technology and expertise of the Champagne region are apparent in every step from vine to glass, the wine is uniquely English. For an unprecedented four years, Nyetimber Sparkling wines have achieved major awards in the International Wine and Spirit Competition. Nyetimber was chosen in blind tasting to be served at the Golden Wedding Banquet of HM The Queen and Prince Philip. It is served at embassies around the world. The Wine

Nyetimber Vineyard pioneered the UK's recent rise to fame and recognition as serious winemakers. The estate was conceived, planted and equipped exclusively for the production of top-quality sparkling wines. Thirty-five acres of gentle, south-facing slopes of greesnsand soil are planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the classic varieties of the Champagne region. Geologically, the South Downs reach down under the Channel and come up again as the chalk slopes of the Cote des Blancs in Champagne. Made from 60% Chardonnay, 22% Pinot Noir and 18% Pinot Meunier. Six years on lees leads a rich texture with zippy lemon finish.
