Chateau Miraval "Pink Floyd" Rose 2008, Cotes de Provence
The Producer
Château Miraval, located in the heart of the Var, is one of the most beautiful historic domaines of Provence. With investment in the latest wine-making technology and a passion for excellence at every stage of production, Miraval has been selected as "one of France's top 500 wine producers" by Guide Hachette. Also, one of its great claims to fame, other than its wonderful wines, is that the domaine's recording studio was used by the band Pink Floyd to record their famous album The Wall. The domaine now has permission from the band to call their Rose, the Pink Floyd Rose, in homage to the band.
The Wine
Made by saignée method where grapes are allowed to gently bleed for three hours. Three-week fermentation at low temperatures follows to preserve the natural aromas. Light filtration before bottling. Lovely pale pink, clear colour. The nose is intense, with delicate raspberry and red fruits-of-the-forest flavours. Shows finesse and complexity on a long, refreshing finish. Served chilled, as an aperitif, or with crisp summer salads, aubergine and tomato dishes, salmon and shellfish.
Single Bottle: £12.99
In a case of 12: £12.34
