Bodegas Trapiche Broquel Pinot Noir 2007, Uco Valley, Mendoza (6)The ProducerTrapiche is best known for its great value wines but the mid-range and, particularly the single vineyard Malbecs are stellar and should not be missed. The single vineyard Malbecs are the centerpiece of the Trapiche portfolio. The selections vary from vintage to vintage but in each case the grower is honoured on the label. Trapiche is also regarded has having one of the best wine makers in Argentina.The WineThe Broquel range is hand-harvested from carefully selected vineyards, and vinified using traditional techniques to bring out the best of the variety. Cool-climate Pinot Noir from the Uco Valley, a really outstanding example of the variety, with nine months in French oak. Limited quantity. Drink now to 2012.
