Handford Wines

Samuel Ferraton is the third generation of the family to farm these steep slopes overlooking the Rhône at Tain l’Hermitage, just north of the gourmet town of Valence. Viticulture is biodynamic, without use of herbicides or pesticides and by respecting the soil and microclimate as an entity living in harmony with the vines. The vineyards are managed in such a way as to promote a sustainable ecosystem. The grapes are all hand picked (you couldn’t get machines up the slopes!) and wines made traditionally with a part of the harvest matured in oak barrels.

Seamlessly pure peach stone fruit, layers of minerality and aromatic complexity combine with fragrances of jasmine, melon and peach blossom. A super effort from this Bio-dynamic estate.
