In 1872, Baron Bettino Ricasoli penned the original formula for the delicate reds of the Chianti region. Today, Francesco Ricasoli continues the tradition of quality winemaking, crafting some of the region's most structured and beautiful wines. The reds are made from Sangiovese with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot added for extra complexity. One of the truly historical icon wineries of Tuscany along with the likes of Antiniori and Frescobaldi.The WineThe estate’s 2004 Vin Santo offers up ripe peaches, orange rind, mango and barley sugar notes in a bright, exotic style.
