Handford Wines

Jean-Claude Rouzaud , the President Louis Roederer and fifth generation to run the house, is a trained oenologist and master Champagne blender. He is the man who ensures the highest quality at each of the many stages of production. Each year a proportion of top wines are matured in oak casks. These are aged for 3 to 4 years before becoming a part of the excellent blend that is Champagne Louis Roederer Brut Premier. Roederer Cristal, originally created for the tsars of Russia, is still made today in limited quantities. The 1990 is one of the greatest wines to come from this fine region. With more than 470 acres, Roederer is one of the most important vineyard owners amonst the Grandes Marques. These have an average rating of 98% on the échelle des Grand Crus.

Created from the wines of four different vintages. 66% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay, matured in bottle for at least four years.
