Chateau Fourcas Dupre 2000, ListracThe finest Chateau in Listrac with a high proportion of free draining gravel soils. Patrice Pages family bought the property in the early 1960s and the average age of the vines is now over 40 years old. The 2000 stood out as an attractive example as it shows the silky side of Cabernet. Distinct red fruit nose and flavours with fair complexity and some chocolate texture. Not a blockbuster but a wine of length and finesse for relatively early drinking. Super cassies and moca choc spice with hints of new oak. Super length and finesse. Perfect dinner party red for Autumn and Xmas. Drink 2003 to 2010. 90+/100 GWS
