Handford Wines

This great house was founded in 1692. The company remains independent and one of the original British Port Shippers to be totally family owned. It was the first to buy wine and then property in the Douro, the first to market a single quinta vintage and dry white port, and the first to create the hugely successful Late Bottled Vintage style. Alistair Robertson heads the team who produce this bold and tannic port with a reputation for being the most long lived. “Taylor is bloody difficult to taste young” said Alistair, “but if it doesn’t taste good when young, then it will last for decades”. Not the most technical summary, but we know what he means!
