Domaine les Aurelles Aurel 2000 (Magnum) (6)Perhaps the most notable fact here is that no wood is used in the production of a range of fine and silky smooth reds. Basile and Karl, who learnt their trade in Bordeaux, achieve an attractive, supple fruit style with some pepper and olive characters, from a little more than 10 hectares of sandy gravel. Yields are never more than 26ha/hl. There is a little white from the Roussanne variety and this is fermented and aged in oak.
