Emilio Lustau Puerto Fino, Jerez

The Producer

The original company was founded in 1896 by Don José Ruiz-Berdejo as an almacenista (a moorish word for warehouse or stockholder), i.e. a small, traditional family business producing and ageing sherries. In the 1940s, his son-in-law Don Emilio Lustau Ortega expanded the business while keeping its role as an almacenista. Lustau's own solera system, based on stocks begun at Lustau's inception as an almacenista itself at the turn of the century.

The Wine

A brilliant sherry from Lustau - the dry, austere, intensely flavorful non-vintage Puerto Fino exhibits a light green/amber color as well as notes of crushed sea shells, hazelnuts and spice. This is top-notch Fino to consume over the next year. 90/100 Robert Parker Jr. Feb 2003.

Single Bottle: £10.99
In a case of 12: £10.44
