Claude and his son Stéphan are the 3rd and 4th generation of a family dedicated to producing the highest quality Chenin Blanc. Claude has tamed the steep rocks of the would be 1er Cru areas of the Layon, St Aubin and Chaume, to produce intensely elegantwines that express the quality of this extraordinary terroir. It is a variety of schist and carboniferous soil that marks the finest plots of the region. Yields are rarely above 25 hectolitres per hectare. Picking of sweet grapes is done in stages to ensure optimum ripeness of each bunch. All fermentations are temperature controlled. Sweet wines are made in many small vats, separated by both origin and picking date.
