Mas Jullien Rouge 2002

Olivier Jullien listens to the vines and the vintage before he decides what sort of wine and how much of it to make. But it must express the parcels of land that he has, chiefly lime and shale around the village of Jonquières. The classic blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault are rarely in the same proportion in the finished wine and there are many different types and sizes of barrel to suit each parcel. There are 12 hectares in total but even that varies as Olivier fine tunes his farm in the never ending pursuit of not just perfection, but the perfect expression of his bits of land and the 'state of mind' of the vines that grow on them.

Single Bottle: £18.99
In a case of 12: £18.04
