Angostura 1919 Eight Year Old Rum
Originating from Trinidad, this marvellous anejo is made from a well-balanced blend of light, robust molasses rum, the youngest being at least 8 years old. Aged in American oak barrels that are burnt on the inside, this rum gets its name from the discovery of barrels dating back to 1919, but discovered in 1932 following the destruction of government warehouses after a devastating fire.
A beautiful amber colour with nuances of coffeee and caramel. It has a particularly concentrated appearance in the glass. A delicate nose of cocoa, black treacle, toffee, vanilla and caramel. On the palate, the attack is remarkably smooth and round. An explosion of generous flavours, notes of roasted nuts and toast. The finish is soothing and warming.
