Gosset Grand Millesime 1999 (Magnum) (3)

The Producer

Founded in Aÿ in 1584. Pierre Gosset was the first recorded seller of Champagne, a fact that gives rise to claims that this is the oldest Champagne house. However old, the quality is outstanding. We have been lucky enough to taste a range of base wines and can assure you that the quality of Gosset’s top Chardonnay is supreme. Indeed Grande Réserve is one of the best premium wines in the region.

The Wine

The 1996 vintage was such a ripe round monster of a wine that it will no doubt live and evolve for years to come. The 1999 however is a worthy successor and has massively dense fruit, brioche, caramel, honey and vanilla notes and a lovely conentrated biscuit complexity on the finish. Oh what a wine! 94/100 GWS

Single Bottle: £115.00
In a case of 12: £109.25
