Quinta da Murta Branco 2006, Bucelas (6)The ProducerThe white wines of Bucelos enjoy a long and notable pedigree, popularised in England by both the Duke of Wellington and Shakespeare ( in Henry IV ). The Bucelos area is just north of Lisbon geographically and Murta has 14 hectares of vineyards in a well exposed south- facing bowl, making less than 4000 cases each year. Excellent soil conditions, vine location and microclimate combine to produce a balanced citrine-coloured wine with a fruity aroma. An ideal accompaniment to fish or seafood.The WineA mouth wateringly good blend of Arinto and Encruzado. Chosen recently as part of Charles Metcalf's Top 50 Wines of Portugal. Light but concentrated, with crisp fresh aromatic citrus fruits. Perfect for summer.
