Coteaux du Layon St Aubin 1er Cru 2005, BranchereauThis famous region has produced some of the greatest sweet Chenin Blancs in the world. 2005 was a seriously good vintage in the Loire and this wine tells the story. Excellent complexity, balance of acid and sweetness and a long, dried yellow fruit and honey finish. A wine of outstanding quality for a steal of a price. On the youthful side now but will certainly reward cellaring for 8 to 10 years.
