Chateau Batailley Grand Cru Classe 2001, Paulliac
From one of the most under rated Grand Cru Chateau in Pauillac comes a classical, dark and structured red. Never lacking in charm, this wine has guts, layers of black fruits and minerals, and a good creamy finish. A good Bordeaux for current drinking.
"Typically masculine and firm, this dark plum-colored, medium-bodied Pauillac offers hints of earth as well as black currant fruit in a virile, monolithic format. It possesses good weight and depth. Drink from 2007 to 2014. Robert Parker"
Should benefit further from several years of cellaring.
