It is a warm welcome back to the ’10 Year Red Bordeaux’ tastings and what a whopper 2009 will be! A warm year, leading to a vintage with big fruit flavours and giving lush, rich and beautifully polished reds. It is considered one of the great vintages; in fact, at the time Robert Parker described it as ‘unquestionably the greatest Bordeaux vintage I have ever tasted.’
We always think that 10 years is always a good time to truly evaluate how a vintage is behaving as, sometimes, too much credence is put on notes that are given to wines before they have even made it into bottle. We are aiming to taste the following: Domaine de Chevalier, Lynch Bages, Grand Puy Lacoste, Gruaud Larose, Leoville Barton, Pichon Lalande, Calon Segur, Leoville Poyferre, Ducru Beaucaillou, Smith Haut Lafite.
