When speaking with growers and winemakers over the last few years, there’s always been a sense of excitement about the 2021 vintage – some even went so far as to describe it as perfect.

Barolo hit a beautiful sweet spot between power and finesse. The wines show purity of fruit, wonderful aromatics, and an elegant restraint, while still being bright and a pleasure to taste even now.

Similarly, the 2021 Barbaresco wines are a triumph, showcasing the region’s hallmark elegance and approachability. The cooler summer temperatures and balanced rainfall of 2021 resulted in wines with fresh acidity and a pronounced mineral backbone.

This is a vintage full of joyful wines that will make a welcome addition to any cellar. We’ll be showcasing a selection of these at our tasting on Wednesday 7th May.
