Description
Established in 2013, Frederic's domaine farms seven and a half hectares of newly converted organic vines spread across Beaujolais-Villages, Morgon, Régnié and Chiroubles. Frédéric follows a policy of minimal intervention in his winemaking, using only indigenous yeast during fermentation. and hand harvests all of the grapes. This red is unoaked and made with 100% whole bunch. Clay soils help balance the vigour of the vine which results in a lower brix level if the grapes had instead been planted on sandy/ rockier soils. At 12.5% alcohol, sub-£20 it offers fantastic value and supports Frédéric’s conviction that Lantignié deserves to be the 11th Beaujolais Cru.
