Description
The complex, mature nature is in part due to the large proportion of reserves wines, approximately 40% that is made up of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. The wines of the harvest year are split equally between Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.
Aged for 5 years in the cellar
Producer Information: Charles Heidsieck
Charles Heidsieck is the smallest of the Grandes Marques champagne houses. They were once a large producer but have recently reinvigorated the brand by concentrating on quality over quantity.
The Brut reserve has a deep, intensity and complexity because 40% of the blend is reserves wines.
And their Blanc des Millénaires need wider recognition because they truly are superb. Unfortunately, not many bottles are produced. Only 6 vintages have been released since the beginning of the 1980s.
