Description
To France, and unusually when thinking of sauvignon Blanc, we steered away from the Loire Valley and landed in Bordeaux. White wines from this famous region are normally herbaceous and oaky, being driven by pyrazines which are found in the Sauvignon variety. However, in 2021, the Semillon variety, renowned locally for its use in Sauternes, ripened to a degree rarely seen before and delivered lush tropical fruit backed with soft honeyed apple. Sauvignon Gris is blended in for balance. Lovers of New World Chardonnay will enjoy the ripeness of this White Bordeaux which has been well regarded as a fleshy white of awesome value.
