Description
The Bandol appellation is an enigma in Provence for it is actually famous for its powerful red wines. The key grape variety is Mourvedre which is commonly blended into Rhone wines for its high alcohol, firm tannin and opulent black fruit nature. Lafran look to tame the grape with 20% Grenache and 10% Cinsault added in. The result is a more approachable Mourvèdre with spicier notes that put it well with braised meats and stews. The finish is fresh and quite dry. A great way to discover Mourvèdre-dominant wines.
