Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Goulots 2006 Domaine Jean Marie Fourrier

In stock

This one is enormously ripe with raspberry and redcurrent characters. There is a little richesse but it's not fatty and there are some mineral notes. With this style of maturation, fatness develops in bottle. This one will be exceptional and drink from 2007.

Winemaking Approach

Producer Information: Domaine Fourrier

In 1995 Jean-Marie Fourrier took over the winemaking from his father Jean-Claude, who had been making the wines since 1967, at first in partnership with his uncle, from whom many of the vines were inherited. Jean-Marie has a broader perspective than many of his fellow winemakers, as he spent time making Pinot Noir in Oregon, as well as training in France. Today, Domaine Fourrier is achieving critical acclaim but Jean-Marie is still young and ambitious to achieve even more. His star may be firmly in the ascendant but his feet are firmly rooted in the vineyards of Gevrey.
