Denis Mortet was higly respected for his wines. The attention in the vineyard and low yields helped him produce wines that were above those made by his neighbours. He was known for concentrated, opulent wines with high level of extraction that could age beautifully.
The Mortet estate is in the hands of Laurence and her two children Clémence and Arnaud. They have a similar dedication to vineyard work but Arnaud has brought some changes. Grapes are carefully sorted so only the very best, ripest are used. There's a little less extraction and a touch more minerality making them approachable when young. Yet these wines offer bigger rewards to those with the patience to cellar them.
