Description
Alessandro Mori, the winemaker of Il Marroneto, has been described as “the Sangiovese whisperer” by Monica Larner of the Wine Advocate for his ability to draw out the grape’s purest, most innate character with incredible energy and charm. Situated immediately below the walls of Montalcino town, at the top of the hill facing out into the valley, the old vines and altitude of il Marroneto’s vineyards produce wine that is ethereal, complex, delightful, and thought-provoking all at once. In many ways, his approach and style is reminiscent of Bruno Giacosa’s Barolo and Barbaresco.
