Description

6 bottle pack.

Having worked with his brother at the exemplary Domaine Jamet, Jean-Luc Jamet went rogue a decade ago. In 2013, the brothers split the 16 hectare Côte Rôtie estate evenly, into two 8 hectare properties. Jean-Luc now has significant holdings in Cote Rotie and makes some of the very best reds on the hillside.

There aren’t many reds like this! The frank and fresh flavours are best suited to a simple red meat dish, charcuterie and hard but mature cheeses. Like a mini Côte-Rôtie, this is a concentrated and deeply coloured Syrah that stays frisky, fresh and long lived in the palate. It's a firm favourites of James and everyone here at Handford.

"The 2020 IGP Collines Rhodaniennes Valine Syrah is a plump, easy-drinking effort, filled with juicy, lip-smacking cherries and touched with hints of dried spices. Medium to full-bodied, it's supple and charming, a fun wine to quaff down in its youth." – Wine Advocate

Producer Information: Jean Luc Jamet

Jean Luc was the viticulturist for Domaine Jamet. In 2013 he left the domaine to his brother Jean-Paul, took some vineyards and set up his new winery. The proceeding years have shown that they are both talented winemakers.

Jean-Luc's textural wines tend to be earlier picked, lighter in alcohol and bring a touch of crunchy acidity.

Their Valine Syrah is starting to get quite a following with Handford customers.
