Description

Xinomavro is the most widely planted grape in Greece for a reason. The vines here are 40 years old and once picked, the grapes spend 2 years ageing in 40% new oak barrels. A high diurnal range in Naoussa allows grapes to fully ripen without alcohol getting too high.
The result is a big wine, similar to a Barbaresco, with a manageable 13.5% ABV. The nose is complex and evolves from dried strawberry, tomato leaf and balsamic into blue raspberry and black cherry. The latter dominates the palate with chewy tannins that are well integrated by new oak.
