The fabulous Killibinbin Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 Museum Release shows a deep garnet-red colour and plenty of complex aromatic notes of sweet blackcurrants and blackberries intermingling with hints of dried violets, carob, freshly stripped tree bark, vanilla pod spice and dried cloves. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with a mellow, seamless concentration of black currants, sweet tobacco, black Chai tea and cherry cola before finishing with a long persistent length of sun raisined blackberries, mint chocolate and subtle hints of mocha and brown toast. This is a cracking wine that has been optimally aged and matured in the winery’s own cellars before being released and should offer some delicious drinking pleasure over the festive season and then for a few years more. Drink it now to 2024+. (92/100 Greg Sherwood MW)
