Description
The Château L’Ecuyer 2014 has been threatening to make a great Pomerol wine for a while and this is certainly very promising. It has a bright and breezy bouquet in the making with plenty of red cherry and wild strawberry fruit mixed with cedar and cigar box scents. It opens nicely in the glass, exuding a sense of confidence but not hubris. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet, ripe red berry fruit, crisp acidity, quite dense in the mouth with a pleasant white-pepper-tinged finish. I'll be keeping an eye out for this in the future.
