Description
Grapes from a 1974 vineyard in Faure, Stellenbosch. 40% whole-bunch fermentation. Subtle and ethereal aromatics – initially pretty notes of rose, herbs, red currant, raspberry, and plums but darker berries, olive, and spice come to the fore with time in the glass. The palate has pure fruit, invigorating acidity, and fine yet grippy tannins. Great structure – neither too frivolous nor too brutish. Very well-judged. 95/100 Winemag.co.za
Producer Information: Van Loggerenberg
Lukas van Loggerenberg.
The name's quite a moutful and so are his wines.
Despite owning no vineyards he has managed to make quite an impact since we first tasted the Kameraderie Chenin Blanc, Breton Cabernet Franc and Geronimo Cinsault.
His first vintage was somewhat interupted by knee surgery. Help from friends whilst in hospital inspired the names for Kameraderie and his Cinsault rosé - Break A Leg Blanc de Noir
