Fabien Jouves, the winemaker for Mas del Perie, makes great single vineyard wines that have woo-ed the wine trade and some truly smashable vin de soif. Les Escures is the domaine's premier cuvee, a single vineyard malbec that is cultivated biodynamically and vinified naturally, without oenological additives. The must spends 30 days on skins helping extract flavour and has a long fermentations on lees with the aim of being enjoyed young and fruity with soft tannins. The fresh, pure wine is medium bodied with a lively acidity. A well-made natural wine. Red and black fruits such as cherry, plum, blueberry, and cassis accompanied by notes of spices and tobacco.
