This white Morey St Denis is grown 1000ft up in elevation. Monts Luisants is adjacent to Clos de la Roche and north of Les Genavrieres. Monts Luisants is named such because the locals say that the leaves of the vines are very yellow and never turn red. The wine in 100% Chardonnay, grown on clay and limestone soils. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks, using only the naturally occurring yeasts. It is aged in 12 and 3 year old French barrique for 18 months. The wine reveals aromas of citrus oil, beeswax and wet stones, followed by a tangy, incisive palate that's tensile, chalky and acid-driven, with a bright, electric quality that is typical of this bottling.
