Nielson's estate vineyard is the site of the Santa Barbara County's first commercial vineyard, planted in 1964 by Uriel Nielson. This wine comes from two growing regions within Santa Barbara County – Santa Maria Valley (one of California’s coolest AVAs with well-drained soils and one of the longest growing seasons in the world) and the Sta. Rita Hills AVA (steep vineyard slopes, a distinct saline minerality and the signature Santa Barbara County ocean influence).
The wine is aged for 6 months in a mixture of French oak barrels, stainless steel, and concrete egg, making it a classic opulent Californian Chardonnay from pioneers of the region. The nose is packed with fruit, creamy citrus and tropical notes. The palate is both lush and concentrated with great balance and rich nutty flavours. Textural silky and fresh acidity. Roast chicken couldn't find a better companion that this lovely cooler-climate Californian Chardonnay. A versatile and stylish white.
