Description
South of the Chilean capital of Santiago, the Maipo Valley is celebrated for its fruit-driven Cabernet Sauvignon. It is often described as the 'Bordeaux of South America. Novas sources its grapes from the terraced slopes of Alto Maipo which run along the Eastern edge of the Andes Mountains. The altitude extends the growing season, leading to grapes which achieve full ripeness while retaining naturally high acidity.
The nose is intense, with a pronounced presence of bright fruit aromas such as cherries and strawberries as well as Gran Reserva style mocha and truffle. Medium bodied and well balanced. The juicy red plum flavour becomes more pronounced with time while offering a pleasing delicate finish.
