2012 is one of the finest Champagne vintages of this century; with yields reduced by frost and hail in late spring and early summer but, thereafter idyllic growing conditions. Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is only ever produced in small quantities and from the finest vintages and comes, entirely, from the heart of the Grand Cru vineyards. This is only the nineteenth release since the first vintage, 1975, was released in 1984. The 2012 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is reminiscent of a hypothetical blend of the 2008 and 2002, with the cut of 2008 and the richness of 2002. Just spectacular. 97+/100 Greg Sherwood MW
