Description
Reflecting the excellence of the vintage, as well as its power, this is the latest in a superb run of 904 Gran Reservas. Combining Tempranillo with 10% Graciano for added backbone and grip, it’s a wine that is (as ever) supremely drinkable on release, but will reward further cellaring. Spicy, aromatic and enticing, with the vanilla sweetness of American oak, savoury tannins and a core of stylish, balsamic-edged fruit. Traditional Rioja with a modern accent. Producer Information: La Rioja Alta
Haro is the old capital of Rioja. The station is one of the great destinations for world wine lovers. Tondonia, Rioja Alta and Roda are all magical wineries, for different reasons, and all within a few metres of the line. Rioja Alta is famed for its vast collection of old bottles. It's a rare winery that can offer such beautiful reds that are ready for drinking. Look out for Gran Reservas 890 and 904, named after the year of foundation, 1890 and the year that Ardanza was acquired.
