Description
The 2016 Geremia is a marvelous, explosive wine that saturates the palate with layers of blackberries, blueberries, minerals, tar, smoke, liquorice and dried baking herbs. The energy and sheer power of the fruit intensity are remarkable, as is the wine’s nuance and polish. All of the elements flow together beautifully in this intense Geremia. The wine’s finesse and sense of balance are unmistakable making the 2016 resemble a mini-Masseto. This is another gem from Rocca di Montegrossi. Geremia is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent approximately 24 months in French Allier oak barrels and a further 18 months in bottle before release. Varietal character takes a back seat in this distinctly Tuscan thoroughbred red.
