A super Decanter World Wine Awards Champagne Trophy winning blend of 50% Grand Cru Pinot Noir and 50% Grand Cru Chardonnay. Prélude was created by Claude Taittinger, who wanted a Champagne of vintage quality and non-vintage consistency. It is made from the first pressing of Grand Cru vineyards. Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger for Chardonnay (50%), and Ambonnay, Bouzy and Mailly for Pinot Noir (50%).
"Very distinctive Dom-P-like nose. Really sappy and energetic – quite different from the rest. Nutty, firm, with just a little edge of something fully developed to beguile but still lots of freshness and real density. Extremely distinctive! Intellectually interesting. Long. Full yet very refreshing."
