Description

6 bottle pack.

During lockdown, one thing we noticed was that people steered away from their norms and became much more experimental with their wine choices. Definitely exciting! So to try and get that spirit of adventure back, we have a special selection of wines that are a little different – wines you should really try, but may have had no idea they existed!

You get one bottle each of:

– Blanc of Black 2022 Julien Meyre – And it's straight out the the blocks with a real left-fielder. The first white wine from Cabernet Sauvignon we've tasted. Don't serve it too cold, else you'll miss out on the grassy, herby, green pepper flavours and even a hint of Sake about it.

– Val di Toro Pepite Vermentino Biologico 2022 Maremma – For those of you yet to try an orange wine, here's a great introduction. Made from 100% skin contact Vermentino. Aromas of wild herbs, hay and yellow fruits and a taste of dried apricots, ginger and honey.

– Zantho Andau Burgenland Zweigelt 2021 – From one of the warmest and driest spots in Austria. Classic Zweigelt, it has an incredibly deep red colour with aromas of fresh plums and dark berries with some hints of black pepper.

– Bat Gara Uno Txakolina Blanco 2020 – Txakolina are the Basque Country wines made to go with tapas. Made predominantly with Hondarrabi Zuri, it is a crisp and refreshing white wine, with notes of ripe apples, hazelnuts and apricots.

– Davenport Vineyards Horsmonden Dry White East Sussex 2020 – English still wines aren't getting the love they deserve. Made from Bacchus, Ortega, Siegerrebe, Faber and Huxelrebe, this is crisp, aromatic and fruit driven with white peach, gooseberry and pronounced hedgerow blossom

– Terre di Giumara Frappato Nerello Mascalese 2021 Sicily – Frappato is a grape that can often be a bit on the light side, but teamed with Nerello Mascalese this really bounces out of the glass. Notes of jammy red fruits, summer herbs and a touch of violet. A great intro to Sicilian wines!
