Description
Tua Rita has always done a fabulous job with their Syrah, but the 2012 takes things to another level. It is the first vintage in which winemaker Luca D'Attoma used a small percentage of whole clusters, a common practice throughout the world, but one that is rarely seen in Tuscany. The 2012 Syrah is intense, with layers of expressive floral and red-toned notes that captivate the senses. Fine and silky on the palate, the 2012 boasts superb personality and pure grace. I can't wait to see how the wine develops over the coming years.

Producer Information: Tua Rita
When Rita Tua and her late husband bought a property in southern Tuscany in 1984, they could have never anticipated that they would end up heading the second generation of Super Tuscans with the proximity to the sea, gently sloping and a unique clay-based soil from the metalliferous hills of the Val di Cornia. Now Stefano Frascolla and his wife Simena, Rita’s daughter, are now at the helm of the estate. The wines are now more elegant and refined than ever, true gems of the Tuscan coast, crafted with the same attention to detail and pioneering spirit from the beginning.
