Description
Notes of black cherry, wild strawberry, rose petals and brown sugar with wet forest floor of cedar, sorrel and pollen
Lively acidity, baked apple and cranberry, it is bright and energetic with great depth and an elegant framing of dark spice. The tannins are velvety with well-integrated oak, having used 31% new French oak. It spent 11 months on its primary lees giving it a wonderful rounded body. This wine is a blend from two separate vineyards, one in land giving the wine its flavour density and one closer to the coast grown on clay soils further adding to the complexity of the wine. This allows for a true expression of Pinot Noir from Anderson valley. The 2017 growing season was initially graced with some much needed rain after a few years of drought, followed by a couple of heat waves before harvest gives this wine a rich fruit flavour.
